Admission Arrangements

For many parents, a visit is a useful way to get to know and school and can be helpful in deciding their preferences.

Admissions offers to the Reception classes  remain in the care of West Sussex County Council  (WSCC) and follow the national arrangements. Admission offers to Years 1-6 currently are managed by WSCC on our behalf, but it is worthwhile calling  the School Office (01444 450782) first to check availability.

The current Admissions Policy for 2023/24 can be accessed here.  The policy for admissions from September 2024 onwards, especially relevant for Reception enquiries, is also available.

For Parents whose children are starting school for the first time, you will be sent a letter in the autumn of the year before your child is due to start school.  This letter informs you of the name of your catchment school and how you can make an application online for a school place.  Parents have the right to express three preferences and may apply for any school, but should submit their application by 15 January.  Further information on admission arrangements to the Reception classes is available at www.westsussex.gov.uk/admissions.

All local schools hold open events and welcome visits from prospective parents to help you decide which school you would like your child to attend.

For any in-year admissions, it is worth contacting the school first to see if we may have spaces available (this is particularly relevant to EYFS, Y1 and Y2 were the classes are governed by infant class size legislation), but application will still have to be made through WSCC.  We will also usually be able to advise if there is a waiting list for any particular  year group.
